Our Krispie Treats

Here is an example of how easy it can be to adapt a recipe that you probably already have in your rotation. JT LOVES these dairy free treats and we make them for parties and friends and no one can ever tell that they are not the real thing. The only substitution we make is replacing the butter with oil. This adaptation works for all of JT’s allergies. Sorry I don’t have any visuals…still trying to figure this blog thing out!

Our dairy free Krispie treats

3 Tablespoons Oil (Use whatever oil works best for you allergies. You can use canola, vegetable or olive)

4 cups marshmallows (Be sure to read labels carefully so that you are using a brand that is safe for you. We use Kraft jet-puffed marshmallows)

6 cups Rice Krispies Cereal

Put marshamallows in a large microwave safe bowl (big enough to allow for the marshmallows to expand), add oil and stir together until marshmallows are coated. Microwave for about 30 seconds at a time until marshmallows are melted and stir.  Add Rice Krispies and mix thoroughly. Coat a muffin pan and a spatula with some oil. Divide Krispie treats evenly between muffin molds leaving tops rounded.  Enjoy!
